Hall Report –
 
Hall Projects (in priority order):
 
Couple of dining room benches getting wobbly
Remove old meter base and patch roof
Insulate crawl space under bathrooms (1/2 done)
Northeast side roof needs additional screws
Kitchen counters need refinished
Kitchen needs exhaust hood and fan
Repainting under eves of hall
Kitchen and dining hall floors need refinished
 
3 party rentals scheduled. Chaps and Zumba still have long term contracts.  
 
Sprinker tractor damaged by vandals and so far, no luck fixing it.
 
Joann and I scored some stuff salvaging the Russelville Grange hall before it is sold.  4 folding tables, new bathroom faucets (and sinks if we want them) exhaust fans for the stoves and maybe bathroom stall partitions.  Exhaust fans are not commercial units but may be worth using for now.
 
STATE FAIR  -  Volunteers needed to staff Log Cabin at the State Fair in Salem.  Shifts are 10-1, 1-4 and 4-7. Email State Grange President Sonny Hays Eberts to sign up at [email protected].  Duties are to greet folks coming in, answer questions, supervise the games and just generally make folks feel at home.  Extensive knowledge of grange history or policy is NOT required.  A day captain will be available to help with questions  and there are reference materials available to look up what we don’t know.

I staffed a promotional booth at Hubbard Hop Festival and Clackamas County Fair as an experiment.  It went fairly well.  Should we try to repeat it at other events?  Cost was limited to rice crispie treats, cookies and some dollar store prizes.

GOOD OF THE ORDER:   Fairfield grange South of St. Paul in Marion County has closed.  State Grange will attempt to reorganize.  Should we offer to help sponsor an open house for that purpose?
